Job summary:

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) seeks qualified individuals to oversee the activities of the Inmate Work Team in the community and at ACI sites. This position is responsible for supervising inmate work during production in the assigned manufacturing facility and will coordinate communication between the designated Regional Operations Manager and the inmate workforce regarding shop floor production needs. Job duties:

  • Transports inmates to/from various work locations

  • Conducts formal/informal counts of detainees

  • Exercise appropriate disciplinary measures as needed

  • Maintains control of keys, tools, equipment, restricted products and confidential information

  • Performs various types of searches and counts

  • Maintains a clean, safe and secure environment

  • Administer work evaluations and initiate and/or maintain required records, reports and documents

  • Driven for state business

  • Performs other duties appropriate to the mission

Selective preference(s):

  • Two years of experience as a correctional officer, or work experience in corrections or the criminal justice field

Pre-employment requirements:

Requires possession and ability to maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license and commercial driver’s license appropriate to the assignment with passenger’s approval within 90 days. Employees who drive for the state are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10 -207.12).

Employment is dependent on the selected candidate passing a background investigation and drug test*.
